A Night (or Daytime) To Remember !!

Main dishes are usually centred on a sauce or stew of simsim, (groundnuts, beans or meat). The starch traditionally comes from posho (maize meal) or matooke (steamed and mashed green banana) in the South, or millet bread (an ugali dish made from millet) in the North and East.

Ugandan Rolex, commonly referred to as Rolex, is a popular food item in Uganda, combining an egg omelette and vegetables wrapped in a chapati. This single-portion dish is quick to prepare, and can be eaten at any time of the day, from breakfast to a lunch or supper meal or snack.

The Drinks - Alcoholic

The traditional alcoholic beverages most widely consumed in Uganda include tonto from banana, ajon from finger millet (Eleusine coracana), omuramba from sorghum (Sorghum vulgare), kweete from maize and millet and waragi from molasses. As in many parts of Africa, these beverages are still produced at subsistence level. The most popular beer brand in Uganda, Eagle Extra has identical ingredients to Eagle Lager, but has a more balanced sweet and bitter taste, along with a higher alcohol content.

The Drinks - Non Alcoholic

Tea also known as chai which is boiled water mixed with tea leaves, sugar and sometimes ginger. Milk tea that is also mixed with water, tea leaves then boiled together and then sugar is added. It is at times spiced up with ginger and tea masala.

Of course there are many fresh fruit juices to excite your palette too.
